Tornado Threat Increasing for Brazos Valley & Southeast Texas

Severe thunderstorms are likely to pose an all-hazards threat to the Brazos Valley, Southeast Texas, and the Piney Woods of East Texas from late this morning through the mid-evening hours. There is a potential for the most intense storms to produce tornadoes, very large hail, damaging wind gusts, and flash flooding. A tornado watch is already in effect for the aforementioned regions until 4 PM.

The first round of storms is currently underway, with a second round of storms possible in Southeast Texas and along the Texas Gulf Coast tonight; however, that second round will present a lower tornado risk, focusing more on flooding and hail threats.
