Thunderstorms Making A Return This Week!

After a couple of weeks of winter weather shenanigans, we’re excited to switch gears and welcome a warmer, stormier forecast this week! Starting Tuesday afternoon and continuing into Tuesday night, the skies across the eastern seventy-five percent of Texas will be filled with plenty of clouds and light rain showers.

Rainfall is expected across the eastern seventy-five percent of Texas Tuesday night through Thursday afternoon. The heaviest rains, with two to four inches of accumulation possible, are expected to be centered across Texoma, North Texas, Central Texas, Northeast Texas, Brazos Valley, and East Texas.

As we move into Wednesday afternoon and evening, we can expect heavier rains and thunderstorms to increase both in number and intensity across the eastern half of the state. Some of these storms might pack a bit of a punch, possibly bringing pocket-change size hail and gusty winds. With all the lightning and heavier rainfall, there’s a chance for street flooding and localized, minor flooding, so please stay safe!A round of strong thunderstorms will move from west to east across the eastern half of Texas late Wednesday into Thursday morning. A few storms may produce localized damaging wind gusts and pocket-change size hail. Heavy rain is also expected.

A line of storms will continue moving east Thursday morning and Thursday afternoon across the Brazos Valley, Central Texas, and East Texas. A few storms may produce localized damaging wind gusts and pocket-change size hail. Heavy rain is also expected.

On Wednesday night into Thursday morning, we anticipate a line of thunderstorms moving from west to east over the eastern half of Texas. Some storms in this line could also produce pocket-change size hail and localized strong wind gusts. We’ll keep refining the Wednesday night forecast since there’s a chance of a few severe storms. But don’t worry! After Thursday, we’ll enjoy a lovely stretch of quieter weather, with no major arctic cold fronts expected this weekend. It’s actually shaping up to be warm and beautiful across Texas this upcoming weekend!
