Texas Weather Roundup: Temperature Rollercoaster Underway!

It’s a cool start to the day across the northern half of Texas after yesterday’s cold front arrival. Today will feature cooler weather for the entire state, though nothing ‘cold’ by late November standards. A rapid warmup will occur tomorrow with high temperatures back into the 70s, 80s, and 90s for the southern two-thirds of Texas. That’ll come crashing back down tomorrow night, and on Thanksgiving Day as crashy the cold front sweeps south across Texas. Gusty north winds and a noticeable drop in temperatures are expected; so high temperatures on Thursday may be in the morning, with falling temperatures during the afternoon.

We’ll see another cold front make it into Texas Saturday night and Sunday. A freeze is expected Friday morning across the northern third to half of Texas, with Sunday and Monday morning having the potential of a freeze as far south as Interstate 10. Little beneficial precipitation is expected in Texas over the next five days – the cold fronts won’t have enough moisture to work with. There is a low chance of light rain/snow in the northwestern Panhandle tomorrow night.
