A rare summer cool front and pattern change will bring rain chances to Texas well into next week. Spotty storms are expected today and on Friday, but even higher rain chances will begin this weekend and continue through the first half of next week.
One to four inches of rain may fall by Tuesday morning from the Concho Valley east through the Hill Country, Central Texas, South-Central Texas, North Texas, Texoma, the Ark-La-Tex, East Texas, Brazos Valley, Southeast Texas, and the Golden Triangle. With rain expected to continue across the southeastern half of Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday, some folks may have to deal with flooding.

The severe weather threat is low, but some storms may produce strong wind gusts and frequent lightning. With all the cloud cover and rain chances, we’ll also see afternoon temperatures in the 80s to 90s versus the upper 90s and 100s.
