Texas Weather: Oh, the humidity!

Seasonably warm and muggy weather will continue across Texas this week. A plume of tropical moisture will make things feel more like Florida or the Gulf Coast, including the typically acrid portions of western Texas. With all that moisture comes the chance of a few storms today across the Ark-La-Tex, East Texas, and Southeast Texas. There should be fewer storms than yesterday.

Tuesday afternoon will bring another round of thunderstorm chances to the Rio Grande Valley, Rio Grande Plains, and South Texas. We also expect storms to fire up in eastern New Mexico tomorrow afternoon. Those will move east and enter the Texas Panhandle and West Texas around dinner time on Tuesday. Gusty winds may result in blowing dust. Heavy rain is possible locally, but we’re not expecting widespread issues in the severe thunderstorm or flash flooding department.

Tomorrow will begin what will be a daily chance for thunderstorms in the Panhandle and West Texas, primarily during the late afternoon and evening hours. Some storms may be on the strong side. Otherwise, a majority of Texas will remain devoid of appreciable precipitation. Thanks to the influx of moisture, we may start the mornings with low-level stratus and even some fog. That’ll typically burn off, or lift, by the mid-morning hours.
