It’s hot in August across Texas, and that is no surprise to anyone. We do have some weather to discuss, but for the most part, it’s a rinse-and-repeat forecast for the remainder of the week. High temperatures will continue in the upper 90s and 100s across Texas into the third week of August. Overnight temperatures will also remain warm, with 70s to lower 80s.
Modest rain chances are expected this afternoon near the Texas Gulf Coast. We may see higher storm chances on Wednesday in the western third of Texas. Any storm can produce brief heavy rain, gusty winds, small hail, and lightning. Our grass fire danger is also high this week.

No hurricanes, no spinny-spinny doom doom, and no blizzards are expected to impact Texas for the next seven to ten days. You can bet on at least two and a half months before even a remote chance of any blizzard mischief.
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and please don’t set your yard on fire.
