Multiple active weather days will occur across Texas during the first week of November. Weather impacts include heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms. We’ll have quiet days in between the more active ones.
Scattered showers are possible today. Thunderstorms will increase late this evening in the Borderland (El Paso Region) north into New Mexico. These storms will move east into the Panhandle, West Texas, Permian Basin, Trans-Pecos, and Guadalupe Mountains tomorrow morning. Some storms may produce strong winds, pocket-change size hail, and heavy rain. Activity will likely move into Oklahoma and perhaps Northwest Texas by the afternoon.

A lower probability scenario involves a larger complex of storms developing farther south and moving into the Big Country and Concho Valley by early Saturday afternoon. We’ll see. Scattered severe storms are possible in the Permian Basin and West Texas by mid-afternoon Saturday. Some storms may produce very large hail, localized damaging winds, and perhaps pose a risk for a few tornadoes. Storms will likely grow upscale into another complex and move northeast into Northwest Texas and Oklahoma.
More showers and storms are possible on Sunday across several regions of Texas, with some potential for rowdy storms. A cold front will move southeast across Texas on Monday and Monday Night, bringing a line of storms to the eastern half of Texas. Those storms look to exit the state to the east around sunrise Tuesday. In their wake, it will be a drier day with gusty northwest winds and cooler temperatures. Another upper-level storm system will approach Thursday night and run into Friday.
Several inches of rain are expected over the next five days across the northern half of Texas, along with Northeast Texas, East Texas, and Southeast Texas. Even though we really need the rain, we may develop a localized flooding risk where multiple heavy rounds of rain occur.
