Halloween will be a treat for many parts of Texas weather-wise, but not for all! A cold front will continue to move south throughout the day. North of the front, pleasant weather is anticipated with no hazardous impacts to outdoor events.
The same cannot be said for East Texas, Southeast Texas, the southern Brazos Valley, Coastal Plains, Coastal Bend, and South Texas. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms may be ongoing during prime ‘candy time’ during the early evening hours. If thunder roars, go indoors! I’m hopeful most folks can get their plans in without weather-related issues. Severe storms are not likely today, though small hail and gusty winds can’t be ruled out.

Spotty showers are possible on Friday across Texas, with the chance of thunderstorms increasing near the Texas/New Mexico line by Friday evening. Thunderstorms become more likely late Friday and Saturday across the Panhandle, West Texas, Permian Basin, and Northwest Texas. Some storms may be severe, with large hail and localized damaging wind gusts. Heavy rain and multiple rounds of storms may result in a localized flooding threat.
This Weekend and the First Week of November
Thunderstorm chances will move from west to east across a good chunk of Texas on Monday and Tuesday as a cold front transverses the state. Some storms may be rowdy, with strong wind gusts and heavy rain. Once we get past Saturday, we’ll deal with next week’s active weather pattern. However, the chances of above-average rain are likely to hold through next weekend.
