Sunday Evening Texas Weather Update: Isolated thunderstorms continue to develop in the Big Country and western North Texas this evening. Those will taper down in a few hours. The risk of severe weather is diminishing for North Texas over the next few hours. However, scattered thunderstorms will develop around midnight Monday in West Texas and Northwest Texas. Some storms will likely produce damaging winds and hail as they move east/northeast. A brief tornado is not out of the question. Those storms will move into Oklahoma a few hours later.
A cold front/dryline will race east across Texas tomorrow morning, approaching I-35 by noon in North & Central Texas. Thunderstorms could begin to develop late Monday morning as the cold front approaches those two regions. The line of storms will race east across Northeast Texas and East Texas Monday afternoon and evening. Severe weather will be possible, so plan on having a way to receive severe weather warnings. We’re also expecting a cold rain in the Texas Panhandle; which may mix with snow in the western/northwestern Panhandle late Monday. We’ll have a complete forecast out around sunrise on Monday. Have a great night! ~David
