Numerous showers and heavy thunderstorms will continue overnight across the Rio Grande Plains, South Texas, Rio Grande Valley, and Coastal Bend. While a few storms may become severe, we expect heavy rain and localized flooding to be a more significant concern in the aforementioned regions into Thursday.
There will still be some risk of severe storms, including large hail, localized damaging winds, and potentially a tornado. The overall risk of severe storms may increase after 4 AM Thursday in Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley, as storms move in from Mexico.

A brief lull in heavier rains may occur Thursday morning in South Texas, but we anticipate scattered showers and storms Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon across the eastern half of Texas. Some areas will benefit from the rainfall.
We expect rain chances to diminish from west to east Friday evening in Texas, leading to a mostly dry Friday night through Sunday morning across the state.
