Texas Severe Storm Roundup [5:40PM 3/8/25]

We’ve seen some scattered severe storms popping up along a cold front moving southeast across Southeast Texas. The strongest of these storms are bringing large hail—think golfball-sized!—localized wind gusts that could be damaging, and there’s even a chance of a brief tornado. These storms might be heading toward the northern suburbs of Houston in the next hour, and we could see more storms developing further southwest. They’re moving southeast at 25 MPH toward the Golden Triangle. The good news is that the storm threat will wrap up for Southeast Texas and the rest of Texas once this activity reaches Louisiana in just a few hours.
