An Oklahoma community still in shock after a tornado killed two people as it tore through their town must wait to lay the victims to rest because of the flooding rain that followed, making the ground too wet for burials.

Historic Sulphur, Oklahoma, known for its eclectic shops, artists, restaurants and murals, is unrecognizable after the nocturnal tornado on Saturday night.

Survey teams with the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma, said they found damage consistent with at least EF-3 tornadoes in the towns of Holdenville and Sulphur. EF-4 damage was found in Marietta, marking the first tornado of that strength in Oklahoma since 2016.

Friday was a terrifying evening for one Iowa state trooper when his cruiser was battered by a tornado, but he didn't let that stop him. He patched up the car with whatever he could find and rushed to help others hit by the twister.
