URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 693 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 130 PM CDT Wed Oct 30 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Southern/Central Iowa Extreme Northeast Kansas Northern Missouri * Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 130 PM until 700 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 80 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...A bowing thunderstorm cluster will likely continue to pose a threat for scattered severe/damaging winds potentially up to 70-80 mph as it continues east-northeastward across northern Missouri and southern/central Iowa this afternoon and early evening. Isolated hail and perhaps a tornado may also occur. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles north and south of a line from 50 miles north northwest of Saint Joseph MO to 5 miles northeast of Ottumwa IA.
