See the sights of an extreme geomagnetic storm around the world

Several coronal mass ejections (CMEs) on the Sun, led to charged particles being hurled towards Earth. NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center classified Friday’s event as a G5, the highest level on its geomagnetic storm scale. Auroras were spotted across Europe, Asia and North America. There were even sightings reported in New Zealand and the South Pole.
