It’s that time of year. We are now in the heart of severe weather season and the pattern Wednesday, May 1, lends itself to a threat of at least a few strong storms. Here’s what to look for:
-
Ripples of energy in the upper part of the atmosphere will pass overhead Wednesday, producing scattered storms.
-
The highest odds for severe storms are Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.
-
Know that not everyone will see severe weather.
-
Any storms that become severe would primarily be capable of large hail and damaging winds. There is a low, but still non-zero, chance for a tornado.
-
Some localized pockets of heavy rainfall will also be a possibility. There is a Flood Watch in effect from Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning
We’ll be updating the KSAT Weather app often and passing along any updates as we get them.
