Thunderstorm chances will continue daily across several regions of Texas through the end of May and into the first week of June. Over the next few days, we don’t expect the widespread severe storms we experienced yesterday. However, an unsettled weather pattern with tropical moisture and an unstable airmass will still present a risk for thunderstorms.
The most common hazards will include cloud-to-ground lightning, heavy rain leading to localized flash flooding, and the potential for hail and strong wind gusts. We may settle down a bit later this week into part of the weekend, but a more active weather pattern could return early next week. Due to widespread cloud cover, high temperatures will generally be on the cooler side for late May across Texas.
