 SEL7 URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 227 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 325 PM CDT Mon May 5 2025 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Southeast New Mexico West Texas * Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 325 PM until 900 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... A few tornadoes possible Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events to 3 inches in diameter possible Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible SUMMARY...Supercell thunderstorms will pose a threat for a few tornadoes and large to very large hail (potentially up to baseball size/2.75 inches in diameter) as they move slowly east-northeastward through the afternoon and evening. Severe wind gusts up to 65-75 mph may also occur on a more isolated basis. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles northwest of Roswell NM to 20 miles east southeast of Midland TX.
