 SEL2 URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 632 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 445 PM EDT Sat Aug 17 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Northeast Alabama Northern Georgia Western North Carolina Western South Carolina * Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 445 PM until 1000 PM EDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...A cluster of thunderstorms will spread eastward across the watch area through the afternoon, posing a risk of locally damaging wind gusts and hail. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40 statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles north northwest of Anniston AL to 10 miles east northeast of Anderson SC.
