 SEL1 URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 581 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 210 PM CDT Wed Jul 31 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Northeast Minnesota Far Northwest Wisconsin Lake Superior * Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 210 PM until 700 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...A well-organized, bowing complex of thunderstorms should continue to pose a threat for mainly severe/damaging winds up to around 65-75 mph as it moves quickly east-northeastward this afternoon and early evening. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles northwest of Hibbing MN to 75 miles south southwest of Duluth MN.
