SEL5 URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 315 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 230 AM CDT Sat May 24 2025 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Far Western Arkansas Central and Eastern Oklahoma * Effective this Saturday morning from 230 AM until 1000 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Mainly elevated supercells should continue to pose a threat for isolated severe hail this morning. A cluster of thunderstorms in south-central Kansas should spread southeastward across parts of central and eastern OK over the next several hours. This activity may pose some threat for scattered severe/damaging winds, with peak gusts potentially reaching up to 60-70 mph. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 115 statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles northeast of Ponca City OK to 30 miles south southwest of Mcalester OK.
