 SEL6 URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 296 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 345 PM CDT Mon May 19 2025 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Southern Iowa Northern Missouri * Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 345 PM until 1000 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter likely Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible SUMMARY...Strong to severe thunderstorms over northern Missouri will spread northward across the watch this afternoon and evening. The strongest storms will pose a risk of large hail. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles north and south of a line from 65 miles west northwest of Lamoni IA to 25 miles south of Ottumwa IA.
