FORECAST
Well, it wasn’t much, but it has been a sight to see. After a round of sleet overnight, snowfall kicked in around 1:30am. Accumulations around San Antonio have been less than inch. Still, we are noticing several icy spots around town, especially on less-traveled roadways. Untreated bridges and overpasses are also of concern. Avoid traveling this morning if possible. Here’s a look at estimated snowfall totals:
IMPROVING CONDITIONS LATER THIS MORNING
Clouds will clear from NW to SE later this morning. Once the sun comes out, we won’t see a huge warm-up, but it’ll be enough to melt and evaporate much of the precipitation. By the afternoon, expect mostly sunny skies and highs near 40°.
HARD FREEZE TONIGHT – COVER EXPOSED PIPES
Temperatures will plummet tonight, with clear skies and light winds. In San Antonio, temperatures are forecast to hit the low-20s, while teens are possible in the Hill Country. This is cold enough to where exposed pipes should be protected.
WARM-UP THROUGH THE END OF THE WORK WEEK
A few more freezes are forecast for Thursday and Friday mornings, however, the afternoons will rebound into the 50s. Small rain chances return to the forecast by the weekend and into early next week.
