A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 1 AM Monday for the Hill Country, Central Texas, and Brazos Valley. This watch covers Fredericksburg, Kingsland, San Marcos, Austin, Killeen, Waco, College Station, Brenham, Palestine, and Gun Barrel City. We anticipate scattered severe storms developing over the next few hours near a slow-moving cool front.

Simulated weather model radar this evening through early Monday morning across Texas. Scattered storms are expected near a cool front this evening from the Hill Country, Central Texas, Brazos Valley, and East Texas.

The most intense storms may produce hail ranging from golfball to tennis-ball size, localized wind gusts up to 70 MPH, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. Storms will move slowly to the east/southeast, and we expect weakening to occur late this evening. An additional watch may be issued for East Texas later today.
