A warm and humid airmass is moving north across the eastern half of Texas this morning, resulting in drizzle, low clouds, and fog that may persist throughout the day. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more common tonight and into Saturday morning as a weak cool front advances south across North Texas, Northeast Texas, East Texas, Central Texas, and the Brazos Valley.
Severe weather is unlikely; however, some storms may produce small hail and heavy rainfall. Isolated storms could continue into Saturday afternoon when the weak boundary stalls in South-Central Texas, the Brazos Valley, and Southeast Texas. Saturday night through Sunday evening is expected to be calm with no significant storm activity.

A stronger cold front will move southeast into Texoma, North Texas, and Central Texas early Monday morning. A broken line of storms is anticipated to develop, with some storms potentially producing small hail and gusty winds. The cold front and this line of storms will advance southeast into Central Texas, the Brazos Valley, Northeast Texas, and East Texas on Monday morning.
By Monday afternoon, most of the upper-level lift will have moved northeast of Texas, likely resulting in minimal thunderstorm activity. However, a few showers may still occur with the front as it moves south across the Coastal Plains, Southeast Texas, and the Golden Triangle. Overall, this weekend will be warm across Texas, with more seasonable and cooler weather returning on Monday and Tuesday.
