October Summer Returning to Texas; Some Storm Chances Too

Most of Texas will experience warming, dry weather through the weekend. Across the Borderland, Trans-Pecos, West Texas, and the Texas Panhandle, we will see scattered thunderstorms tonight, Saturday, Sunday, and early Monday. A few storms in western portions of the Panhandle, West Texas, and along the Texas/New Mexico border may be severe Saturday evening. Hail, strong winds, and even a tornado can’t be ruled out. Higher severe weather chances will be further west in New Mexico. A few storms will also be possible through the weekend and on Monday in the Rio Grande Valley and Lower Texas Gulf Coast.

High wildfire danger is forecast across all of Texas this weekend due to flash-drought cured fuels, warming temperatures, and a dry airmass.
