FORECAST
Yesterday, we reached 84°, a record for the date. Today’s record high is 86°. While we are forecasting to come up just short of that mark, it’ll still be a hot day. We are starting well above average this morning. Like the last few days, expect cloudy skies and patchy drizzle through midday. Then, sunny skies will take over during the afternoon.
HOT SATURDAY
Temperatures will reach even higher on Saturday. Highs will soar into the mid-80s in San Antonio, with some 90s likely showing up south of the city. Saturday will be our hottest day in the forecast.
SUNDAY IS TRANSITION DAY
This is where the forecast gets tricky. We know a cold front is headed for South Texas during the Sunday to Monday timeframe. The question is timing. Thankfully, we’re now starting to get the help of some our more reliable models. New data suggests the front could make its way through during the day on Sunday. This will put a cold air mass in place for the Hill Country, while warmer weather will remain for those south of San Antonio. In town, we’ll be on the dividing line. High temperatures will likely be cooler on Sunday and cooler yet on Monday.
COOL NEXT WEEK
Most, if not all of next week will be cool. We are forecasting highs in the 50s, with plenty of clouds. Small rain chances also show up late Monday through early Thursday.
