Today in Texas, we’re enjoying warm and breezy weather! A gentle cool front is expected to drift down across the state tonight into Thursday, bringing a chance for some isolated showers in North Texas and Northeast Texas this evening. Fortunately, unlike last week’s harsh cold snap, we’re not heading into an ice age! Get ready for temperatures to be about ten to fifteen degrees cooler on Thursday, with highs mainly in the cozy 60s and 70s across the state. But don’t worry; this brief cooldown won’t last long, as we can expect warmer temperatures to return by Friday.

Friday and Saturday are shaping up to be delightful. Friday will be mostly sunny, and some cloud cover will roll in on Saturday, but the warmth and pleasantness will be here to stay.
Sunday looks like it might be an active weather day in parts of Texas, as we welcome the first of several upper-level storm systems. While the highest chances for thunderstorms will be in Oklahoma, a few storms may reach the Red River in Texoma and Northeast Texas late Sunday. The bigger concern will be strong westerly winds, blowing dust, and the potential for increased wildfire risk across western Texas. And then, Monday will be a nice transition day!
Looking ahead, the next storm system will impact Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday. Strong to severe storms could pop up on Tuesday in Northeast Texas and East Texas. We should also brace ourselves for another very windy and dusty day in the west, with a heightened wildfire risk. Depending on how much dust kicks up, it might even drift towards Interstate 35 Tuesday night into Wednesday. And don’t forget, a cool front will be arriving soon after this system!
