FORECAST

Today will be our last “warm” day, as temperatures will reach to near 70° ahead of our strong cold front. Expect partly cloudy skies today and breezy southerly winds. Today’s not a bad day to take care of any cold weather preps, with the coldest temperatures settling in on Sunday.

COLD FRONT ARRIVAL

The cold front slides through tomorrow morning. Gusty winds out of the north will kick in, with some gusts up to 25 mph. While it will be cooler tomorrow, the really cold air will hold off until Sunday. Temps should top out in the low-60s tomorrow. By Sunday morning, we’ll be near freezing in San Antonio, while wind chill values will make it feel even colder. Sunday’s high temperatures are only forecast to reach the mid-40s, with blustery conditions.

HARD FREEZE MONDAY MORNING, FRIGID MLK MARCH

Temperatures will plummet by Monday morning and we are expecting a hard freeze. Temperatures in the mid-20s will be fairly widespread. Not only that, but winds will still be relatively gusty, putting wind chills in the teens and 20s. For the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. March, you’ll want to dress very warm. Highs on Monday will only reach the upper-30s, as clouds roll in by the afternoon.

WINTRY MIX STILL POSSIBLE MONDAY NIGHT

While moisture will be limited, a chance for a light wintry mix remains in the forecast for Monday night. Profiles of the atmosphere indicate that sleet and freezing rain may mix with snowflakes for those north of I-10. Any precipitation would come to an end early on Tuesday. While we aren’t expecting major impacts, you’ll want to keep a close eye on the forecast and check back often.

Another freeze is expected Tuesday morning and again on Wednesday. In fact, should skies clear, Wednesday morning has the potential to be quite cold.
