Several crashes that have been blamed on dense fog has shut down the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana.
NEW ORLEANS – The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana was shut down by numerous crashes believed to have been caused by fog on Tuesday morning.
According to a report from FOX 8, an estimated 40-50 vehicles were involved, and several people were taken to local hospitals.
Video from the scene showed several vehicles that had been involved in the crash, with some fog still lingering in the area.
According to Causeway Police, the causeway has been shut down in both directions while work continues to help those who were injured and remove wreckage.
