Looks like Texas is in for a warm treat this February! Over the next several days, we can expect those cozy temperatures to keep rolling in. While we start the morning with a bit of fog and mist, don’t worry, the sun will shine brightly this afternoon! Highs are set to climb into the lovely 70s and 80s, but keep an eye out for a few showers or even a storm in the Coastal Plains and Southeast Texas later today. Most folks will likely avoid the rain, though. Tonight, we might see fog return in the southeastern half of Texas, which could lead to another round of low visibility for your Thursday morning commute in the D/FW Metroplex, as well as on Interstate 35 through Austin, San Antonio, and Laredo.
As we head into Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, get ready for those near-record-high temperatures to stick around, with afternoon highs ranging from the delightful 70s and 80s all the way to the sizzling 90s! South Texas could even flirt with the 100-degree mark on Saturday! Just a heads up, though; the wildfire threat is a bit elevated, so let’s stay vigilant with those fast-moving grass fires that may pop up. A strong cold front will start making its way south into the Panhandle on Saturday, bringing us back to those typical February temps for the northern two-thirds of Texas starting Sunday and throughout the week.

Much Cooler and Wet Next Week
Looking ahead, rain chances will be on the rise as we move into Sunday night and Monday. Next week is shaping up to be quite an interesting one for Texas, with plenty of opportunities to see some rain. There’s even a slight chance of snow in the Panhandle by mid-week! But for now, nothing looks like a major winter storm is on the horizon.
