East Texas Severe Thunderstorm Nowcast [7:05PM 3/30/2025]

A new severe thunderstorm watch has been issued until 2 AM Monday for East Texas and the Brazos Valley.

We’re seeing new, isolated storms developing from southwest of Jacksonville to near Centerville and Madisonville along Interstate 45 in East Texas. These storms are moving east-northeast at 25 MPH. The most intense storms may produce large hail over the next hour, with localized damaging winds also possible. A severe storm is expected to arrive in Jacksonville, bringing large hail by 7:25 PM.

Storms will continue moving east over the next few hours, with large hail and localized damaging winds as the primary threats. The tornado threat is low but not zero.

Storms will persist into late this evening and early Monday morning across East Texas, potentially developing into a line that moves south toward the Golden Triangle pre-dawn Monday morning. The threat of large hail and damaging winds will diminish after midnight to 2 AM, although some strong storms may continue past that time.
