During an earnings call on Wednesday, The Walt Disney Company reported domestic theme park revenue of $6.43 billion but experienced an approximately $120 million impact from hurricanes Helene and Milton. Hurricane Milton caused parks throughout Central Florida to close for about a day and disrupted the sailing of the company’s cruise ships from nearby Port Canaveral, Florida.

The combination of dense fog and smoke is expected to create hazardous travel conditions across southeastern Louisiana throughout Super Bowl weekend. A large marsh fire broke out southwest of New Orleans on Thursday in St. Charles Parish. While now homes are threatened, visibilities along major interstates west of New Orleans could drop to dangerously low levels.
