Florida, the Southeast and the mid-Atlantic have all felt the wrath of Tropical Storm Debby, and now millions of people across the Northeast and New England are bracing for potentially life-threatening flooding as the deadly storm gets set to blast the waterlogged region with torrential rain late this week.
Tropical Storm Debby is expected to dump torrential rain along the Eastern Seaboard that could lead to catastrophic flooding, with rainfall amounts that could exceed 25 inches, the National Hurricane Center warns.

Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Widely scattered to scattered thunderstorms will continue to develop and intensify through the mid evening. The stronger initial cellular storms will pose an isolated risk for large hail (1 to 2 inches in diameter) and severe gusts. Additional storms with some outflow merging and upscale growth into one or more clusters is expected later this evening. Severe gusts (60-70 mph) and perhaps large hail may accompany this activity late this evening into the early overnight.
