Hours after the Federal Aviation Administration gave clearance for SpaceX to launch its fourth Starship test flight from Texas, the space company said it would attempt a launch at 8 a.m. ET on Thursday. Attempts in April and November 2023 ended in failure, with the most recent attempt occurring in March of this year.

Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Multiple clusters and lines of thunderstorms will track east-southeastward across the watch area through the overnight hours, posing a risk of damaging winds gusts and large hail. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles north northeast of Chanute KS to 60 miles south of Mcalester OK. A U.S. Coast Guard crew reported coming to the aid of seven adults and one child after their boat capsized nearly 40 miles off the Florida coast on Saturday. A helicopter stationed at Air Station Clearwater spotted the party because of a signal coming from the boatersâ Personal Locator Beacon.
