Atlanta, Knoxville rattled as earthquake shakes the Southeast

ATLANTA — A minor earthquake rattled the Southeast Saturday morning, sending a jolt felt across parts of Atlanta and into Tennessee.

The magnitude 4.1 quake struck about 13 miles southeast of Greenback, Tennessee, just after 9 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

But people reported shaking as far as some 120 miles away in Atlanta to the south, and around Knoxville, Tennessee to the north.

There are no initial reports of any damage.
