Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the eastern three-quarters of Texas on Wednesday and Thursday. North Texas, Texoma, and Northeast Texas are expected to see the heaviest rainfall, totaling one to three inches. Other regions will receive between a tenth and one inch of rain. Some storms may turn strong to severe late Wednesday into Thursday afternoon, with possible hail the size of pocket change, localized strong gusts, and even brief tornadoes.
Street flooding could occur in areas receiving heavier rain. Precipitation chances will decrease from west to east on Thursday, accompanied by gusty west winds. We won’t experience a significant cooldown after this midweek system, and the upcoming weekend is shaping up to showcase the best weather of 2025 so far, featuring above-average temperatures and mostly sunny skies.
