Bitterly Cold Forecast: Winter Weather Possible Next Week

The warmer weather we’ll enjoy over the next few days will soon give way to a powerful blast of arctic air sweeping across the United States next week.

Compared to our forecast from yesterday, we’re noticing a cooler trend in the data, along with a slightly higher chance for winter precipitation, including snow, ice, and rain. Crashy the Cold Front is set to arrive on Friday night and Saturday, bringing a prolonged cold snap to Texas.

From Monday through Wednesday, it looks like the northern half of Texas may struggle to get above freezing, making those days potentially the coldest of the week. Temperatures statewide are expected to dip lower than our last cold snap, especially on Monday and Tuesday mornings, so get ready for some frigid conditions!

We’re also seeing an increase in winter precipitation chances nearly statewide next week, spanning Monday through Wednesday; however, these chances remain modest, ranging from 15 to 40 percent. As we approach next week, we’ll keep fine-tuning the forecast to give you the most accurate updates possible!
