We are on the backside of some very nasty weather that has affected the Lone Star state. Houston will be cleaning up for quite some time in the wake of hurricane force winds yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of those who perished from these storms.
The heat cranks back up big time for West Texas as early as tomorrow, and the dreaded heat dome expands much more by Sunday through Tuesday. Wildfire conditions will be critical or higher by Sunday. Please be super careful about not setting any fires in the Panhandle, West Texas, and SW Texas over the next several days. Temps will soar into the low and mid 100s daily at least somewhere in the western half of Texas each of the next 4-5 days.

Meanwhile on the eastern side of the state it will be muggy as all of our rainfall allows for a moist low-level atmosphere to stagnate. Temps will be in the 80s but dew points will exceed 70. But, at least it should remain void of thunderstorms for the next 5 days. Our next cold front and rain-maker appears to pop into northern portions of TX by Wednesday into Thursday.
