Christmas Eve Texas Weather Update: Severe Storms This Evening

A cool front has resulted in multiple storms this morning and early afternoon across the D/FW Metroplex and North Texas. We expect things to start shifting south through the late afternoon. By dinnertime, storms will likely be impacting Northeast Texas, eastern North Texas, Central Texas, the Brazos Valley, and portions of Southeast Texas.

Isolated to scattered severe storms are possible Christmas Eve afternoon and evening across Central Texas, Brazos Valley, East Texas, Coastal Plains, and Southeast Texas.

A line of storms will move south tonight across those regions and eventually into the Coastal Plains. Some storms this afternoon and evening may produce large hail, localized damaging winds, and flooding rainfall. The tornado risk is expected to be minimal.
