Get Ready Texas: More Cold Weather Heading Your Way After A Brief Warm Up!

Looks like we’re going to have a quick warm-up before another strong cold front hits Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect a freeze for the northern 70% of the state by Wednesday morning, so if you’ve got outdoor plants or agricultural interests, it’s time to plan ahead. There’s a chance of light snow showers in the western Texas Panhandle tomorrow, but don’t expect much—just a little sprinkle on my new Oh Sweet Mama Snow (OSMS) scale. Tuesday evening might bring some scattered showers to the Rio Grande Valley and the Lower Texas Gulf Coast, but most of Texas will stay dry until Friday and Saturday. After that, rain chances will return to the eastern part of the state as warmer weather rolls in.
