Rain chances are on the rise for the eastern half of Texas. Today and Tuesday will bring the best chance for showers along the Lower Texas Gulf Coast, South Texas, and Rio Grande Valley. As we move into the second half of the week, rain chances will expand across the eastern half of Texas, with at least two rounds possible.

Friday night into Saturday afternoon, rain chances will be confined to the Texas Gulf Coast and the southeastern third of Texas, with a potential break Saturday night and Sunday. Another storm system is expected in about one week. One to two inches of rain will be possible across eastern North Texas, Northeast Texas, East Texas, Southeast Texas, and most of the Texas Gulf Coast into the Rio Grande Valley. The western half of Texas will mostly miss out on beneficial precipitation this week.
There are no extreme weather conditions on the horizon. High temperatures will vary from the 50s to 60s across the northern half of Texas. The southern half of Texas will be warmer, with high afternoon temperatures ranging from the 60s up to the 80s on some days. The coldest air masses over the next week will generally stay to our north and east, ensuring a week of comfortable weather.
