Rain is coming to Texas* on Friday and Saturday! *if you live within 10 miles of the Gulf of Mexico. Yup, you bet your behind that I (Baldy) used a clickbait title. Unlike several popular digital weather channels, I at least put an asterisk with it! 😂

We will see some rain chances along the Texas Gulf Coast beginning Friday afternoon and continuing through Saturday night. Rain chances won’t extend far inland, nor will higher rain totals. Those of you within ten miles of the Gulf Coast have the highest opportunity for one-half to two inches of rain, while rain totals quickly fall off to near nothing once you’re 50 miles inland. We may see an isolated storm or two as far west as the Rio Grande Plains. Friday and Saturday will be wet at times in the Rio Grande Valley, Coastal Bend, Coastal Plains, Southeast Texas, and the Golden Traingle near the Gulf Coast. It looks like we’ll likely start drying out on Sunday. The remainder of Texas looks dry for the next week, if not longer.
Seasonably Hot and Dry into the second week of October
Above-average high temperatures will continue into the second week of October. Highs in the 80s and 90s will be standard across Texas for the remainder of this week and next. A back-door cool front may knock temperatures down on Tuesday in the eastern quarter of Texas, and we may also see highs in the 70s for parts of the Texas Panhandle at times. A stagnant, quiet weather pattern will continue for the next seven days.
