SEL6 URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 666 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 125 PM EDT Sat Aug 31 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Western Maryland Southwest Pennsylvania Northwest Virginia West Virginia * Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 125 PM until 700 PM EDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage and move east across the watch area through the afternoon, posing a risk for scattered damaging wind gusts and isolated instances of large hail. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles northwest of Altoona PA to 10 miles southwest of Beckley WV.
