Triple-digit heat will continue to plague Texas, with temperatures increasing as we head into the weekend. This afternoon, another chance of storms will return to the Panhandle, West Texas, Northwest Texas, Permian Basin, and Southeast Texas. Gusty winds, frequent lightning, small hail, and brief heavy rain are expected. Texas has an elevated wildfire risk as surface fuels continue to dry out. Another round of at least isolated storms is possible Friday evening in the Texas Panhandle. High temperatures will increase to 105-110 degrees this weekend and early next week across parts of Texas.
