 SEL1 URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 331 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 415 AM CDT Mon May 27 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Central Alabama * Effective this Monday morning from 415 AM until 900 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...A cluster of thunderstorms moving rapidly out of eastern MS will encounter a favorably moist air mass in AL, along the northern rim of stronger capping. Damaging gusts are the main hazard over the watch corridor. Sporadic hail will be possible, and a tornado or two also may occur. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40 statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles west southwest of Tuscaloosa AL to 25 miles east southeast of Anniston AL.
