Worldâs second most consumed beverage faces impacts from climate change
A recent study warns that by 2050, 11 of the top 20 tea-producing countries could see a reduction in suitable land for cultivating the Camellia sinensis plant. More than 7.2 million tons of tea were consumed in 2022, which equates into 5 billion daily cups. China leads the world in overall consumption, but residents in Turkey consume the most per person.
