Tax deadline extensions: Where weather disasters have altered the April 15 filing date

Every year, the country experiences hundreds of natural disasters but only few rise the level that the Internal Revenue Service steps in an offers relief to storm victims. In 2025, taxpayers in parts of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alaska, New Mexico, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and California will have adjusted filing deadlines due to recent natural disasters. Some areas were recipients of severe storms, while others experienced wildfires or even hurricanes.
