Feb. 2 might be the day we celebrate Groundhog Day and the mid-point of winter, but 109 years ago in Seattle, Punxsutawney Philâs prognostication of the balance of winter was the last thing on anyoneâs mind.
The next full moon will occur on Wednesday, February 12 at 8:53 a.m. Eastern Time. The nickname comes from February usually being a chilly month with plenty of snow on the ground in the northern latitudes.
