210 PM EDT Sat Aug 3 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Central North Carolina Central South Carolina Central Virginia * Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 210 PM until 900 PM EDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are increasing in a corridor from central
Virginia into central South Carolina. These storms will track
northeastward through the afternoon, posing a risk of locally
damaging wind gusts. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55
statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles north of
Richmond VA to 65 miles south southwest of Charlotte NC. For a
