Hubble telescope spots distant dwarf galaxy
NASA has released a new image taken by its Hubble Space Telescope, which is unveiling new details surrounding the Tucana Dwarf galaxy. The galaxy is thought to be nearly 3 million light-years away from Earth. The agency said it was initially discovered by astronomer R.J. Lavery in 1990 and is much smaller and less luminous than many neighboring clusters of planets and stars.
Monsoon thunderstorms produce damaging microbursts around Phoenix
The National Weather Service Phoenix said it received several reports of damage on Thursday associated with microbursts around the state. During intense events, wind speeds can reach greater than 100 mph, but gusts were thought to be significantly less during Thursdayâs thunderstorms.
